Dr. Renee Schmid is the Manager, Veterinary Medicine and Professional Services and Senior Veterinary Toxicologist at Pet Poison Helpline® and SafetyCall International. She has been with the company since 2013 and has a special interest in educating pet parents and veterinary professionals on animal toxins commonly found in and around the home. She received her BS in Agriculture and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Kansas State University. Since veterinary school, Dr. Schmid has worked in small animal general practice, small animal emergency practice, and has also received additional clinical training through an anesthesia residency. Dr. Schmid is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (ABT) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology (ABVT).
