Dr. Carol Thompson was born and raised outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, she attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. while at Muhlenberg, she played French horn in the band and received a BS with a biology major and a music minor. After college, she attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced small animal medicine in Maryland for 11 years, where she met her husband, Brian. The couple moved to Lake Wales, FL in 2001 to open their own practice.
Since moving to Lake Wales, Dr. Carol and her husband have become involved in the community supporting many local ministries, including the Lake Wales Care Center and the Circle of Friends.
With an avid interest in behavior, Dr. Carol became Fear Free certified in 2017. She and the staff at Thompson’s Veterinary Center worked diligently and became the first Fear Free certified practice in Florida in 2019.
When not working, Dr. Carol likes to run and weight lift. She has run many half marathons and several full marathons; her favorite venue in Nashville, TN. She also enjoys training her Border Collie in canine freestyle and fitness.
