White cats are not only striking animals—they’re considered lucky in many cultures. Whether or not you’re superstitious, they’ll certainly bring some extra joy to your life.

If you have your heart set on a white cat with blue eyes, or just want to find a friendly feline with a white coat, there are many breeds to consider.

Mellow, sweet, and as cute as they come, Persian cats are a popular breed known for their flat face and long hair that comes in many colors. A white Persian cat has a particularly elegant appearance, although these cats require more maintenance and grooming than most other white cats.

Ragdoll cats are large, fluffy cats with bold blue eyes. They have an easygoing personality and tend to be calm and relaxed when picked up, which sometimes makes them feel like a furry ragdoll toy—hence the breed’s name. White Ragdoll cats have soft, creamy fur, often with darker markings on their face, paws, and tail.

3. Khao Manee

Japanese Bobtails come in a variety of fur colors including all-white and are found with both medium and long coats. The Devon Rex has a unique appearance, with large ears, a broad chest, and a slender body. Their coat—found in multiple colors, including white—is short and fragile, so minimal grooming is best.
